chattering monkeys and dough bowls.

I mentioned that I would explain the reasoning behind the madness of perusing a book every morning. Well, on busy mornings, I don’t have the time for a book—but as soon as I find time, I find an excerpt or quote from my online collection of reads, quotes, etc…. Why?

We take vitamins, right? We eat and drink things that nourish us, right? So why not nourish the mind and the heart? And to do that, we read, we converse, we eat together, and we get together.

But the quotes? The excerpts? Well, they are very useful. You see, sometimes our senses need a cigarette.

My excerpt today?

I chose this one.

I want to ‘go back’ to something I wrote in the previous post about putting together dough in a bowl. The bowl. The dough bowl. The one you use to create your dough. I said that plastic bowls are kitschy. They are. I said that I use a plastic bowl, by choice, for my dough. I do! I have a different plastic bowl for each kind of dough. BUT. BUT. BUT.

I forgot to include the authentic bowl—the authentic bowl used to mix and knead.

I have it. But I don’t use it for kneading dough. I am used to the plastic ones. I know. Terrible. Anyway.

Speaking of bowls, my father had made this one—The Artichoke Bowl—for me around 30 yrs ago. Now he is almost 100 years old!

The Artichoke Bowl.

Signing off for today… I’m here. Almost daily…Sending love and peace to all…
